Love Island’s Harriet finally reveals what was going on with her hair & slams villa girls for not telling her it was bad

SHE became the subject of thousands of memes thanks to her hair in the Love Island villa.

And in an appearance on the Saving Grace podcast, Harriett Blackmore finally revealed just what was going on with her locks while she was on the ITV2 show.

So she was stunned when she saw the memes about her when she got out[/caption]

“God, the hair in there – the humidity was a joke,” Harriett said.

” And my hair is naturally so curly. So as soon as I walked out the dressing room, it would just be like, poof.”

Harriett admitted that the jokes about her hair hit even harder because she’s known for having “10 out of 10” locks among her friends, and even gets a “bouncy blow dry” weekly to maintain her look.

“So when I saw the clips, like people brushing my hair on the screen, I was like, okay, did I actually look like that?

“Like I did need a hairbrush in there, thanks for telling me girls,” she added, referring to her villa housemates.

Harriett also said that Love Island bosses kept telling her she needed to get her extensions redone.

But she didn’t really understand why, as she was “happy” with the extensions – “minus the humidity”.

“And I was like, no, no, no, like I don’t need them done. And they were like, no, you need to have them done!” she recalled.

“And they’re like, cause you know, if you’re in til the end, like you’re not gonna get your hair done, you need to get them done.”

So she ended up eventually getting the tapes redone, as bosses drafted in a hairdresser from London, before she left the villa just three days later.

“He was really lovely. He was from London actually. Really good,” Harriett said.

“Yeah, really good guy. But I was just, yeah, I just didn’t expect like, that someone would come in and do our hair!

“And they were like to me, you need to get it done.

“Cause if you’re into the end, Harry, like you’re not having like, tapes hanging out.”

Harriett also revealed she and her fellow Islanders got their nails done once in the villa too.

“I was really happy with mine,” she said.

How can I fix dye damaged hair?

Have you taken the dye too far? There are some ways to fix this WITHOUT chopping the whole lot off.

  1. Give it a trim: we’re not saying you have to cut the whole lot off, but you should trim the worst offending split ends.
  2. Ditch the heat products: stop straightening/curling your hair immediately.
  3. Stop dying your hair: step away from the bleach, and starting using ammonia-free semi-permanent dyes for now.
  4. Switch to sulfate free: use kinder, sulfate-free shampoos and conditions to repair your damaged hair. And don’t shampoo more than twice a week if possible, because this strips damaged hair and makes it brittle.
  5. Treatment masks: use one of these hair treatment masks, listed below, to rejuvenate your locks.
  6. Sun protection: cover your damaged hair when sunbathing or swimming in a chlorinated pool, to prevent further damage.
  7. Eat your hair healthy: make sure you drink lots of water, eat Omega 3 fatty acids found in salmon, walnuts and flaxseeds, and green veg like spinach, kale, carrots and avocado. Some pre-natal supplements also promote hair growth.

“It was great. It’s princess treatment. I loved it!”

However, people in the comments section weren’t convinced by Harriett’s excuses, with one writing: “What’s the excuse for being back in the UK lol?”

“The frizz is from breakage too you can still see it in this vid,” another said.

“Whoever’s cutting it is not giving her 10/10!” a third insisted.
