Dragon Ball Sparking Zero crossplay functionality explained
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has a lot of content on offer with a plethora of modes to explore, including online battling.
Since the game is also a multi-platform release, many are wondering if Sparking Zero has crossplay functionality, allowing you to play against other Dragon Ball fans no matter the device.
Below, we’ll run you through if Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is crossplay so you know if you can match up against your friends on other platforms.
Is Dragon Ball Sparking Zero crossplay?
While you are able to create online tournaments and play against others, sadly, there is no crossplay functionality in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
This is unfortunate for you Dragon Ball fans out there who were hoping to get some battles going with anyone and everyone, but at least there is online play all the same.
For why this wasn’t implemented in the game, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero producer, Jun Furutani, stated in an interview with IGN that crossplay is “one of those touchy subjects” and was “difficult” to get working for Sparking Zero.
If you’re holding out hope for a crossplay update later down the line, Furutani goes on to say that “we don’t know yet”. But, since he also suggested that it is a difficult challenge to get a feature like that implemented for launch, we’d be surprised if more resources are put into it.
If crossplay does become a reality in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, it’ll certainly help with the longevity of the game, and will keep those player counts looking far healthier for online modes later down the line.
