Bruins Making This Improvement Priority Ahead Of Home Opener
The Bruins can improve a few things following their season-opening loss to the Florida Panthers.
Boston got handled pretty easily at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday, allowing a first-period onslaught that quickly put things out of reach. Joonas Korpisalo was under siege all night, Matthew Tkachuk and Sam Bennett continued to stir up trouble and Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery was forced to sit and watch.
Monty is only looking for one thing when his team returns to the ice Thursday, though.
“Urgency, playing fast, winning battles,” Montgomery told reporters following morning skate, per team-provided video. “Those would be the three things we’re looking to improve upon, vastly, from Game 1.”
The downtrodden Montreal Canadiens are in town for the season opener at TD Garden on Thursday, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to make those improvements. The B’s and Habs will take the ice at 7 p.m. ET, following an hour of pregame coverage, on NESN.
