Rohit Sharma may miss one of India’s first two Tests against Australia in Border Gavaskar Trophy
New Delhi: India’s preparations for the Border-Gavaskar have suffered a major setback. Captain Rohit Sharma may be ruled out of the first Test match against Australia later this year. According to a PTI report, the star batsman will not be a part of the opening Test match due to personal reasons. Australia has not won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy for the last 10 years. This time they would like to end this drought.
According to PTI, the Indian captain may miss one match of the Test series against Australia due to personal reasons. Captain Rohit Sharma has informed the BCCI about this. However, no official statement has been issued by the BCCI yet.
The tour will start from November 22:
The Indian team will start the Australia tour with the Test match to be held in Perth on November 22. It is expected that Rohit Sharma may miss either the first or the second match of the series to be held in Adelaide between 6 and 10 December.
Abhimanyu Easwaran may get a chance:
It is worth noting that Indian captain Rohit Sharma was last seen playing against Bangladesh in the home Test series. Now he will be seen leading Team India in the three-Test series against New Zealand starting from October 16. If Rohit is unable to play Test matches in Australia, then in-form Abhimanyu Easwaran can replace him. At the same time, KL Rahul can be seen opening with Shubman Gill.
