Another arrest made in connection with Trayonna Williams murder in Ville Platte
VILLE PLATTE, La. (KLFY) -- Another arrest has been made in connection with the Sept. 14 killing of Trayonna Williams in Ville Platte, authorities said.
Malik Omar Charles, 25, of Ville Platte, is charged with one count of second degree murder and one count of attempted second degree murder.
Williams was shot to death Sept. 14, and another person was also shot, but survived, authorities said. Previously, Tavion Fontenot, 20, and an unnamed juvenile male were each charged with one count of second degree murder and two counts of attempted second degree murder in connection with the shooting.
Detectives with the Ville Platte Police Department obtained an arrest warrant for Charles, who has been evading law enforcement since the warrant was issued, officials said.
The Evangeline Parish Sheriff's Office found Charles Thursday in a home in the 100 block of E. Lasalle Street in Ville Platte and arrested him without incident, authorities said.
Charles's bond is set at $3,750,000. The investigation is still ongoing.
