Husband of Pro-Life Woman Kamala Put in Prison for Protesting Abortion Says Don’t Vote Democrat

Christopher Bell, jailed pro-life activist Joan Andrews Bell’s husband, wrote an article on why Catholics need to vote for an imperfect candidate.

“We always vote for an imperfect person,” Bell wrote in Crisis Magazine. “I’d rather (have) an imperfect person who has some sense of justice for the most vulnerable and a desire to use American economic force and military might wisely than one who totally does not.”

“You’re not going to vote for a saint,” he continued, “but for someone — and realistically an entire administration — that might do you less harm than another. Don’t expect too much more.”

Bell admitted that he was “deeply saddened and horrified” by the Republican Party’s current willingness to “let abortion go unchecked,” but argued that it was still far less harmful than the Democratic Party, which uses taxpayer dollars to fund completely unrestricted abortions.

“I can at least call Republicans and rationally discuss how to help mothers and babies before and after birth. Democrats don’t want to talk with me,” Bell wrote.

Bell discussed other dangers of electing the Democratic Party to office besides their radically pro-choice agenda. He referenced their attacks on religious freedom, including the incarceration of his wife, their rejection of parental rights, and their refusal to punish criminals appropriately.

Bell also brought up the possibility of a looming world war that has erupted under a Democratic president. He wrote that even though the US is still one of the most powerful in the world, when the country does not use its power wisely, “other nations will attack their neighbors — neighbors whom we have pledged to help and support.”

“How much can we continue to help and support when the whole world is on fire?” he added.

Bell also brought up the issue of immigration, noting that he is the grandson of immigrants and has spent much of his life helping immigrants attain citizenship, work, and education. He argued that lack of border control leads to the exploitation of immigrants.

“The real tragedy at the border is the slave trade,” Bell wrote. “Not only adults but children are being brought into the country illegally and worked as slaves to pay off those who brought them in.” He reflected that border controls “give people legitimate opportunities to get proper help, not to be taken advantage of by scammers.”

Bell concluded, “Please pray with me that this very blessed nation of ours will once again defend and protect life from conception; defend and protect life justly on both sides of our border; defend and protect life by ending wars justly.”
