Overtime Elite center Kai Rogers commits to Oklahoma

By SAM LANCE

Class of 2025 four-star center Kai Rogers has found his college home, committing to Porter Moser and the Oklahoma Sooners on Friday.

Rogers — the 6-foot-10 big man from Wauwatosa (WI) and the Wisconsin PlayGround Under Armour AAU program — chose Oklahoma over his other finalists Iowa State and SMU.

“I’ll be committing to the University of Oklahoma,” he said on his 247Sports announcement.

“Coach Moser, he just tells you how it is,” he added. “That’s the coach I need. I don’t want him to sugar coat anything, I want him to give it to me straight And that’s what he did from day one. He told me the stuff I need to work on, stuff I need to work on and how I fit in.

“And he really has a plan for me and how I can fit into that team and I’m really comfortable there.”

The big man joins two other Sooner commits in the class of 2025: four-star small forward Alec Blair and four-star 7-footer Andreas Holst.

With PlayGround this summer, Rogers led the team in scoring and rebounding with averages of 16.4 points and 6.6 rebounds. He shot 66% from the field and added 40 blocks across 17 contests. He’ll play his senior season at Overtime Elite.

“They’re getting excitement,” he said. “I’m going to bring excitement on the defensive end, I’m going to bring those big dunks. I’m bring the energy to the bench, so excitement is what I’m going to bring.”

“Kai is a really special player who has already been impressive this preseason for the Cold Hearts,” said Aki Collins, Director of Scouting from Overtime Elite. “I’m excited to see his continued growth and development at OTE this season and know that he’ll bring maturity, competitiveness and his elite on-court skillset to Oklahoma next fall.”
