Pre-Game Report: Vernon Vipers vs. West Kelowna Warriors

Vernon, BC:  The Vernon Vipers are still in search of their first win of the season as they prepare to host the West Kelowna Warriors on Friday night at Kal Tire Place. With a passionate home crowd behind them, the Vipers are determined to turn the tide and secure a much-needed victory.

The Vipers enter the game following a tough 4-2 loss to the Penticton Vees last Saturday. Despite playing a strong 57 minutes, a brief lapse allowed the Vees to take a decisive lead. Shea Busch was a standout performer for Vernon, contributing a goal and an assist in the losing effort. The team will need to put together a complete 60-minute effort to get into the win column.

Meanwhile, the West Kelowna Warriors come into the matchup with a 3-2-1 record after splitting their weekend series against the Trail Smoke Eaters. After a tough 8-2 loss on Friday night at Cominco Arena, the Warriors responded with a bounce-back win on Saturday. Callum Hughes leads the charge offensively for West Kelowna, with 3 goals and 3 assists in 6 games.

This will be the third of six meetings between the two teams this season, adding extra importance to the contest as the Vipers look to even the season series.

It will also be the final home game for the Vipers before a road stretch, with their next home appearance scheduled for Wednesday, October 30.
