Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski posts incredible numbers for Sweden vs Serbia
Dejan Kulusevski produced some eye-catching numbers for Sweden in their Nations League clash against Serbia and was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet.
New position for Kulusevski
Kulusevski, who has impressed as a number-eight for Tottenham this season, was deployed as a striker by Sweden boss Jon Dahl Tomasson on Friday.
The Tottenham man led the line alongside Viktor Gyokeres as the Scandinavian side lined up in a 3-5-2 formation, with Brighton midfielder Yasin Ayari being used as a number ten.
Kulusevski worked in socks off and was a constant threat to the Serbian defence throughout the 90 minutes as Sweden raced to a 2-0 lead before the home side pulled two goals back.
Kulusevski’s impressive numbers
According to Fotmob, the Tottenham man registered a total of seven shots on goal. However, he only had an xG of 0.31 from those seven shots, which explains why he didn’t get on the scoresheet.
Kulusevski won two of his three duals and made three successful dribbles. He had 65 touches of the ball throughout the 90 minutes, with 15 of those coming in the opposition box.
The 24-year-old also created three chances for his side, playing eight passes into the final third was only dispossessed once in the entire match.
Additionally, Kulusevski also did his part to help his side out defensively, making a total of seven ball recoveries.
Immense versatility
The former Juventus man continues to display his unbelievable versatility, showcasing that he is capable of playing across the forward line or in the middle of the park.
While he looks to have made the number eight role his own at Tottenham, Postecoglou knows that he can count on Kulusevski to fill in as a number nine or on the flanks in case he is short of options.
