NGT issues notice to authorities on blockage of drains, encroachment in Bengaluru lakes

The NGT has asked BBMP officials to respond to a Lokayukta report highlighting blocked stormwater drains and encroachments in Vibhutipura and Doddanekundi lakes in Bengaluru. The report found alarmingly low water levels and misuse of facilities. Officials have been given time to submit their replies before the next hearing on November 5.
