Evgeni Malkin is making a habit of celebrating milestones through the early going of this NHL season.
Earlier this week, Malkin was one of several Penguins players who celebrated a milestone moment as he recorded his 800th NHL assist during the team’s 6-3 win over the Red Wings.
Last night, Malkin celebrated another milestone as he recorded his 1,300th NHL point during the team’s 4-2 loss to the Maple Leafs.

His 1,299th and 1,300th points both came on assists, with the goals scored by Kris Letang and Rickard Rakell.
Malkin is now just the third active player in the NHL with 1,300 career points.
Fellow Penguins player Sidney Crosby leads the NHL in points among active players with 1,598 points and Alex Ovechkin sits second on the list with 1,550 points.
Malkin is now tied with Jarome Iginla at 1,300 points for the 36th most in NHL history.
