Evatt will now have to watch his side’s next three matches from the stands after the FA charged him with misconduct.
He has also been slapped with a £3,400 fine, an FA spokesperson confirmed.
Their statement read: “Ian Evatt has been suspended from the touchline for three matches and fined £3,400 following misconduct at the EFL League One game between Bolton Wanderers and Shrewsbury Town on Saturday 5 October.
“It was alleged that the manager’s conduct on the field of play after the final whistle was improper and/or violent.
“Ian Evatt admitted to this charge and an independent Regulatory Commission imposed his sanctions.”
As a result of the ban, Evatt will be absent from the dugout for the League One matches against Burton, Birmingham and Peterborough.
He will make his return to the touchline for the trip to Stevenage on October 29.
