A six-wicket haul by Gurjapneet Singh has helped Tamil Nadu in the start of their Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season. The team registered a dominative 70-run inning victory over Saurashtra in Elite Group D. His bowling helped the team to dismiss the visitors for just 94 runs in their second innings.

Saurashtra was no match for the destructive bowling spell of Gurjapneet, as he blasted through their batting lineup. His number of 14 overs, 5 maidens, 22 runs and 6 wickets included key wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara and Sheldon Jackson.

The base for Tamil Nadu to win was set in the first innings when Saurashtra was restricted to just 203 runs. Tamil Nadu batters responded with Narayan Jagadeesan taking the charge and making a century. Tamil Nadu posted a total of 367.

Saurashtra was under high pressure when they returned to bat. Gurjapneet played his part earlier on, as he dismissed Cheteshwar Pujara for a six-ball duck.
