Foreign carriers cut back China operations in response to tough conditions

China's international market continues to recover as demand slowly progresses towards pre-pandemic levels. However, international market conditions are challenging and several carriers from outside China have scaled back their operations or withdrawn from the market entirely.

Citing factors such as lower than expected demand, an influx of capacity by Chinese airlines and geopolitical issues, carriers from across Asia Pacific, Europe and North America have been forced to curtail their activity in China and seek greener pastures elsewhere.
