Postseason baseball is big business for New York businesses
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Mario's Meats & Gourmet Deli in Middle Village has created the OMG Sandwich on Grimace Bread.
Yes, purple bread to honor the McDonald's mascot who has been embraced as a good luck charm by some superstitious Mets fans.
At Katch Astoria, co-owner Bill McSorley tells PIX11 News he created the "Amazin", a light-blue-colored mixed drink for the Mets. There's a Yankee version too that's more Navy in color. Tommy McSorley, whose family owns the bar says it's vodka, blue curacao, pineapple juice, and maybe a splash of good luck?
Bill McSorley said, "We're doing raffles, we have prizes and we're trying to get a couple of former players to come in, but that's a secret!"
Fans and businesses alike hoping for the first Subway Series since 2000.
