Major Setback for India as Shubman Gill complain about Stiff Neck
Shubman Gill may miss the first Test of the three-match Test series against New Zealand. He has complained of pain in neck and shoulders before the beginning of the series.
According to a report, Gill informed the team management about the issue on October 14. Before the coin toss, a call will be taken on the morning of the first Test regarding Gill playing in the first Test.
In the pre-match conference after rain cancelled the practise session, skipper Rohit Sharma also stayed quiet about the playing XI.
“It all depends on the conditions. Today it has been raining. The pitch is under covers. We will take a call tomorrow morning on 3 pacers or 2 pacers and our best-playing XI. We are keeping our options open,” Rohit said.
If Gill gill does not play, India have two options Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan, who have been benched since Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul made a comeback in the squad. However, Sarfaraz is more likely to get the call as he scored a record-breaking double century for Mumbai in Irani cup.
