WATCH: Manu Bhaker slams trollers with THIS special pose as she sizzles on ramp debut
New Delhi: Manu Bhaker, who recently made headlines with her stellar performance at the Paris Olympics 2024, showcased her stylish and glamorous side at the Lakme Fashion Week in Delhi. The double medalist from Paris turned heads as she walked the ramp as the showstopper for the clothing brand Marks and Spencer.
Dressed in a sleeveless, black body-fitted dress, Manu Bhaker captivated the audience with her elegant walk at the event. She added a special touch by striking her signature shooting pose, a nod to her Olympic achievements. The moment quickly went viral on social media, with Bhaker herself sharing a video of the event on Instagram.
However, as expected, some fans resorted to trolling Manu Bhaker for her appearance at the fashion event. Yet, many others came to her defense, highlighting the disparity in recognition for athletes. One user commented, “You deserve all of this and more. It’s weird seeing people trolling her for getting the attention and limelight she’s getting. She deserves all of it. Compare what cricketers in our country get for winning accolades for India, and you would feel this is still barely anything compared to that. Wish you all the success and hope you make the country proud even more.”
In response to the criticism, the 22-year-old Manu Bhaker had the perfect comeback. Addressing both her supporters and critics, she commented on her own post, “Wow, thank you guys for some good words. Also quite some haters I see.” Her remark subtly acknowledged the mixed reactions while maintaining a positive outlook.
“I just wanted to say, don’t limit yourself to anything, make your life big, your career shiny and your parents proud, haters will hate, lovers will love, you do you. Have your morale high and make your own way, in your own style. There’s no shortcut to things, but why do easy things when good gave you strength to do difficult. Cheers”, she added.
At the 2024 Paris Olympics, Manu Bhaker earned two bronze medals, making history for Indian shooting. She first secured bronze in the women’s 10m air pistol event, becoming the first Indian female shooter to win a medal at any Olympics. She followed this achievement with another bronze in the mixed 10m air pistol team event, alongside her partner Sarabjot Singh. With these victories, she became the first Indian to win two Olympic medals in a single edition since India’s independence.
