A neighbour rushes out of his home after hearing the loud sound of the tank crashing into the pavement as panic begins to set in when the woman doesn’t move for a few seconds.
Moments later CCTV shows her head slowly rising from the hole on top of the plastic drum.
Both the man and woman – who is still trapped inside the tank – immediately glare up at the opposite roof with a puzzled look as they try to figure out where it came from.
The woman was left unscathed following the near miss.
Locals said the bizarre fiasco unfolded at Mansi Residency in Dindoli, Surat, India on October 5.
The woman was returning home after offering donations to the local deities following a morning of Navratri prayers.
A huge crowd of neighbours quickly rushed to the side of the woman as they all started to investigate the cause of the tumbling tank.
Three men went to comfort the woman as they all started shouting up at the adjacent roof from where the tank came from.
A further group of women and children also rocked up to the street as the startled lady remained stuck in the middle of the water tank.
Residents later revealed they believed divine intervention saved the woman from suffering a major injury.
Her charitable nature and help with the local Hindu temple is said to have played a vital role in keeping her unscathed.
It later emerged that the tank had been accidentally dropped from a terrace before plunging down onto the woman.
The companies security guard S.M. Mishra said it was due to be discarded by a scrap collector clearing out old items from the home.
Another near-miss saw two carriages on a giant Ferris wheel flip upside down – leaving passengers dangling in mid-air.
