Southwest monsoon withdraws from entire India

The southwest monsoon has fully withdrawn from India, making way for the northeast monsoon over southeast peninsular regions. India recorded 8 percent more rainfall than usual during the 2024 monsoon season due to intense low-pressure systems in August and September, according to the India Meteorological Department.
