I may NEVER bring back Borat after gun rally crowd turned on me and I had to go on the run, admits Sacha Baron Cohen

SACHA Baron Cohen has amassed a fan base of millions with his hit comedy alter egos Borat, Ali G and Bruno.

But he says that the situations he put himself in to film undercover became so risky that he doesn’t think he will ever play a character like that again.

Sacha Baron Cohen says he became ‘terrified’ about what might happen

He returned as Borat for a second movie in 2020, but was shaken after part of the crowd turned on him at a gun rally in the US.

Sacha recalled: “The last one became so extreme. After that gun rally, I was essentially on the run.

“I had a militia kind of following me.

“I was going from safe house to safe house for about four days.

“It became so crazy that you realise there’s a certain amount of skill and preparation, but also you’re going to be lucky.

“And at some point, your luck runs out.”

Sacha told the SmartLess podcast in the US that he only revived Borat to mock the dire state of American politics before the 2020 election.

He added: “I think the danger element meant I just didn’t want to do it again.

“I felt I had to do it for that election. I had to do it.

“I was terrified about what’s going to happen.”

PAUL MESCAL skirts with danger with this look to promote upcoming movie Gladiator II.

He posed in pleats for the November issue of GQ mag – as he revealed his mum was left mortified by an internet rumour claiming he likes to go on walks with one-night stands then run away from them.

The fake gossip spread on TikTok earlier this year, and while he can see the funny side, Paul’s mum is less impressed.

The Normal People hunk said: “We were looking at the videos and ping ourselves.

“Categorically untrue. I remember my mum looking at the videos and she was getting upset.

“I was like, ‘Oh, it’s funny to us’ – my brother, me, my sister – because we know that this is the way the internet works. It’s hilarious.

“If it was true, it’d be fing bad – but as a rumour, it’s funny.”

Book's a Swift read

TAYLOR SWIFT has announced her Official Eras Tour book – featuring more than 250 pages of behind-the- scenes goodness from her sell-out shows.

It is tipped for release on November 29 – the same day she puts out The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology for the first time on vinyl.

Taylor said: “We’ll be kicking off the final leg of The Eras Tour this week, which is hard to comprehend.

“This tour has been the most wondrous experience and I knew I wanted to commemorate the memories we made together in a special way.

“Excited to announce the Official Eras Tour book, filled with my own personal reflections, never-before-seen behind-the-scenes photos, all the magical memories you guys brought every single night.”

No doubt both the book and vinyl release will top the Christmas lists.

VICTORIA MONET is all smiles – and no wonder, after her recent snog with Stormzy.

The Sun revealed last week how US singer Vic kissed the Croydon-born rapper on the lips as he saw her off at Heathrow Airport, three months after his split from stunning Maya Jama.

And Victoria was quickly back to business as she went on US TV’s Jennifer Hudson Show, grinning from ear to ear in a beige jacket and skirt.

She was speaking about her upcoming kids’ book Everywhere You Are, which she reckons is perfect for children experiencing separation anxiety.

Perhaps Stormzy should read it now she’s back in the US.

Victoria, who has young daughter Hazel by an ex, said: “Writing this book healed a portion of mom guilt for not being able to be in two places at once.

“For a lot of moms, if we had the option, we’d spend every waking hour loving on our children in their presence. But for the modern-day working woman, it just isn’t very realistic.”

Lauryn's 'Meghan' brag as she runs late for gig

LAURYN HILL compared herself to “controversial” Meghan Markle as she finally brought her Fugees tour to London – albeit with a key group member missing.

The Ready Or Not singer arrived on stage at London’s O2 Arena 45 minutes late for Monday’s show, performing for over an hour before finally being joined on stage by Wyclef Jean.

But their third bandmate, Pras Michel, was noticeably absent, after recently suing Lauryn because their US tour was axed at the last minute.

Pausing the show at one point, Lauryn read out a poem she had written in London, in which she said she has “been dealing with jealousies and sabotage”.

Referring to Meghan, the singer – who had pink beads in her hair and wore a fur coat – joked: “I’m controversial in these streets like the motherf***ing Duchess.”

Following recent criticisms about her tardy timekeeping, she added: “They say I don’t care about my fans, no. I don’t care what they think of us.”

Some gig-goers weren’t too chuffed and left the show before she even got on stage, while others were frustrated as the gig ended 25 minutes after the O2’s 11pm curfew.

Maybe she should splash her tour earnings on an alarm clock.

SAM FENDER has launched a countdown ending at midnight on Friday, hinting he is about to return with new music.

He recently revealed he had completed work on a third studio album and is now expected to drop a single on Friday, while his website has another countdown ending on November 13.

His record will be the follow-up to 2021 release Seventeen Going Under, which was his second No1.

PERRIE EDWARDS, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson hit dizzying heights with Little Mix – thanks to the fact they are all 5ft 3in.

The group won the 2011 series of the X Factor, but the judges originally couldn’t decide who should be included. In the end, the band members were quite literally brought together based on how they measured up.

Perrie told Radio 2’s Tracks Of My Years: “We were actually in two separate groups. Me and Jesy were in a group with two other girls, and Jade and Leigh-Anne were in a different group with another girl.

“They tried so many different formulas on the show. It just didn’t work. We all got nos. Then they were like, ‘Actually can you four come back?’.

“They based it on our heights. They were like, ‘These four girls will work because they’re all the same height’.”

Expressing her joy over the opportunities the TV singing contest created, she added: “I’m so grateful. It changed our lives completely.”
