Dejan Kulusevski’s impressive stats from Sweden win prove he’s on a hot streak
Tottenham Hotspur’s Dejan Kulusevski has been on fire of late, and he’s carried that form into the international break with Sweden, with some incredible statistics showcasing how influential he was in his country’s latest win.
Assist caps strong performance for Kulusevski
Kulusevski, now the Sweden captain, was instrumental in his side’s 3-0 win over Estonia on Monday night. He continued his creative streak with a fine assist to seal the win, too.
This comes off the back of a great run of form for Spurs, where the 24-year-old has made the transition into a more central role and has flourished alongside James Maddison.
Clearly relishing his responsibility with Sweden and feeling full of confidence, Kulusevski recorded impressive statistics for the win over Estonia.
As per FotMob data, Kulusevski came out with a match rating of 8.3 out of 10, making him the third-highest-rated player in the Sweden team on the night.
Alongside his assist, Kulusevski registered five shots, created four chances, and actually came out with an xG of 1.26, but was unable to get on the scoresheet, largely due to a 33% accuracy rate from his shooting. He missed one big chance, and had two shots blocked.
Kulusevski a passing master
Perhaps most impressive are Kulusevski’s passing stats. The attacker met his target with 47 of his 55 to clock an 85% accuracy rate. He also completed both of his long passes on the night.
Kulusevski had 79 touches throughout the game, including an incredible 15 in the opposition box — that’s more than the entire Estonia team managed to get in the Sweden box.
His game is not all about attacking, though, with Kulusevski also managing one defensive action, three ball recoveries, and winning six ground duels.
A changed man
Kulusevski has always been good for Spurs and Sweden, but this season he really does appear to have taken his game to another level, and it’s very likely due to the fact he is playing in that more central role. I’ve a feeling he will just go from strength to strength now and could end up having a truly world-class season.
