Hudson Crossing Park hosts fall activity day
SCHUYLERVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A fall, Halloween themed event is set to transform the Hudson Crossing Park with an eerie glow, using jack-o-lanterns. The Pumpkins in the Park free event will take place on Oct. 26 from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The family-friendly event will feature pumpkin carvings, a bird show, a walk-through pumpkin, lighting the path, and will end the night with ghost stories and a performance from the Schuylerville Drama Club. Guests can bring their own pumpkin for the trail.
All pumpkins along the trail will be lit with battery operated lights or glow sticks. Any pumpkins left on the trail after the event will be left for animals to eat.
Although the event is free to attend, pumpkin carving at the pavilion has a $10 suggested donation, with all proceeds going towards the Hudson Crossing Park. The Drama Club performance also has a $5 per person donation fee at the door.
Hudson Crossing Park is centered on Champlain Canal Lock C5 Island just north of the Village of Schuylerville along Historic Route 4. To learn more about the Pumpkins in the Park event or other upcoming events, visit the Hudson Crossing Park website.
