LeBron James is already getting tired of unnecessary Bronny questions

LeBron James wasn’t thrilled to be answering questions that should be directed toward Lakers guard Bronny James and not himself.

The Lakers have had many storylines at this training camp, from coach JJ Redick's desire to shoot many threes to the development of the young wings and conversations about why the Lakers are only playing road games.

One narrative that has not slowed down has been anything regarding Bronny James.

Everything he does, whether well or poorly, is being viewed with a level of attention we've never seen for a player drafted with the No. 55 pick.

After Monday's practice, LeBron James was asked how Bronny is handling the struggle and adjustment to the NBA and gave a rather cold response.

Are questions regarding Bronny’s play fair to ask LeBron himself?

By LeBron shutting down the question, it’s a way to set a precedent that he won’t be doing player grades on Bronny every night, good or bad.

Those questions being asked to Bronny or Redick are totally fair, but you don’t often ask players directly how another player is performing or adjusting to the NBA. Admittedly, this isn’t normal circumstances, but LeBron wanting to just let Bronny be a rookie and develop and carve his own path is something you'd want any first-year player to be allowed to do.

The fact that it’s his son will garner more attention, but it’s a fair ask.

My guess is that similar questions will continue, and he’ll have to decide whether he’s drawing a line in the sand and not making direct comments about individual players moving forward.

Asking LeBron about sharing the court with his son in a preseason game makes sense. And there are some questions about Bronny that LeBron will likely be up for answer. But questions about how Bronny is adjusting to the league are questions that should be directed at Bronny.

Once the regular season begins and we get the father-son duo on the floor, things will likely cool down a bit as the focus turns more to how the Lakers are doing more than daily Bronny updates.

But until then, LeBron had better prepare for more Bronny-related questions, especially on the road.
