Tottenham battling three Premier League clubs for 23-year-old Serie A star
Tottenham want to add reinforcements in midfield in 2025 and are now reportedly looking towards the Serie A to do so.
Genoa star hits the spotlight
A report by GiveMeSport reveals that Morten Frendrup’s consistent displays at Genoa are now catching the attention of a number of sides.
The 23-year-old has developed into one of the most consistent number sixes in Italian football and was recently even capped by the Denmark national side.
According to the update, there is a ‘strong chance’ that the midfielder leaves Genoa next summer, with various clubs now trying to pry him away.
Tottenham admirers of Morten Frendrup
GiveMeSport say that there is a feeling among several English clubs that Frendrup has the attributes needed to thrive in the Premier League.
A number of clubs, including Spurs, have allegedly watched the Genoa man in action this season, with the player said to have been on the North London club’s radar for a long time.
According to the report, the Lilywhites feel that they are short of options in defensive midfield after losing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp in the summer and see Frendrup as someone who can plug that gap.
Three other PL clubs in the race
However, it turns out that Spurs might face quite a bit of competition for the Dane, whose list of admirers is now growing.
The publication suggests that the main competition could come from Manchester United, who are eying Frendrup as a potential replacement for Casemiro.
Additionally, the former Brondby man is thought to be of interest to both Liverpool and Crystal Palace, both of whom are in need of additions in midfield.
