Finland’s games industry forecasted to continue growth into 2029

Over the last 30 years, the video game sector in Finland has grown from a handful of small operators into a multimillion-dollar industry that ranks among the biggest in Europe.

The first video game developers in Finland - Terramarque and Bloodhouse - were established in 1993, but the rise of mobile technology, in which Finland was at the forefront, and consistent investment in the sector by the Finnish government have contributed to rapid growth over the last 30 years, and the result is a video gaming industry that is forecast to go from strength to strength.
