LeBron James says it’ll be special to share court in Cleveland with Bronny
The first matchup between the Lakers and the Cavaliers will be extra special for LeBron James, given that Bronny will have the chance to play with him.
Whenever LeBron James, an Akron, Ohio native, returns to play against the Cleveland Cavaliers, there is an extra buzz to the matchup.
This season, there’s a bit of more hype with his son, Bronny James, being a part of the game as his Laker teammate.
With Los Angeles beginning their first road trip of the season and the visit to Cleveland looming, LeBron was asked if he had any guesses about how he would feel to play alongside Bronny on that floor.
“Nah, I don’t,” LeBron said postgame after a loss to the Suns. “I don’t. But it’s definitely going to be very special to be back home and be able to run on the floor with my son who spent a lot of time on that floor throughout my days when I played there for 11 years.”
Bronny playing against the Cavs is still a question mark. He played for just three minutes in the season opener and has not participated in any games since.
It’s been reported that Bronny will begin a G League assignment after this road trip, so it wouldn’t be a shock if the only moment they share is via warmups and shootaround.
However, they did make sure to get that moment in the very first game and with his G League assignment looming, it seems like we’ll see one more moment between LeBron and Bronny before he heads to South Bay for an extended period of time.
Bronny seems to have handled the hoopla well and stays focused on the team and his development as he finds his footing in the NBA.

Given that this is Los Angeles’ only trip to Cleveland this year, they’ll have to play Bronny on Wednesday if this moment matters to the Lakers and LeBron. The evidence so far indicates that it does.
When this moment happens in Cleveland, it’ll be cool to see. During the first game at Crypto.com Arena, the stadium erupted when they were both subbed in, adding good vibes to the first game of the NBA season for the purple and gold.
If Bronny and Lebron play together again, the crowd at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on Wednesday should respond similarly.
