Katie Price rants she’s being ‘discriminated against’ and refuses to pay £150k car insurance despite crash and bans
DOUBLE-BANKRUPT Katie Price has ranted she’s being ‘discriminated against’ as she refuses to pay her £150k car insurance despite her drink-fuelled crash and driving bans.
Page 3 legend Katie, 46, was recently pictured returning to the roads in a £40k Nissan Qashqai after an incredible 18-month wait.

During a TikTok Live this week, Katie addressed inquiries from fans regarding her driving situation, saying: “Yes, I’m back driving and yes I can get my cars but can I get insured on them? No!”
She elaborated on the high insurance rates, claiming, “It’s discrimination because of who I am… people want to charge me £150,000 a year to insure a car.”
Katie explained that she’s gone down the leasing route as it proves to be “so much cheaper” and the cars come with insurance.
The former glamour model has faced significant legal challenges, including a 16-week suspended jail sentence and a two-year driving ban imposed in 2021.
This came after she pleaded guilty to drink-driving while disqualified and without insurance.
At the time, she crashed her BMW, flipping the vehicle while en route to visit a friend near Horsham, and admitted to police on the scene that she had taken drugs.
At her sentencing, the district judge remarked on Katie’s troubling driving history, stating she had “one of the worst driving records I have seen,” having been banned on five previous occasions prior to the incident.
Though she was set to regain her driving license last year, her plans were postponed after she was charged with driving without insurance earlier this year.
The reality star was left convinced someone she knows has sent anonymous complaints to the DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency).
She told The Sun: “I should have got my license back 16 months ago and I’ve still not got it.
“Someone anonymously kept emailing DVLA saying I’m not fit to drive and despite my doctors writing out fit to form letter four times, still haven’t got it back.
“I know it’s someone I know trying to spot me but it’s unfair because I did my community service, paid my fine, done my online course, so I should have got it back last April the 4th and I still haven’t got it.”
Elsewhere, The Celebrity Big Brother winner is battling a £760,000 unpaid tax bill after being declared bankrupt for a second time in March.
She was served an eviction notice ordering her to leave her £2million Mucky Mansion by the end of May as bailiffs swooped.
In July, the court was told Katie has failed to cough up a £25,000 payment she owes, followed by monthly instalments of £12,500.
Katie was supposed to hand over her six cars – a Volkswagen Beetle, a Nissan, two Range Rovers, Suzuki Vitara and Infiniti FX50 – on July 5.
She also indicated she would hand over her pink Range Rover but has so far failed to do so.
The court was told Katie was paid £84,000 by TikTok to create content for three months – but blew the lot.
It was decided her income from the social media app would be suspended last week in a separate hearing.
Under the terms of a previous order, Katie pays 40 per cent of her monthly OnlyFans income to wipe her debts.
The court was previously told Katie owes 12 people or companies but has not paid a single penny to her creditors.
This includes her ex-husband Alex Reid, who told the hearing that the mum-of-five is a “calculated, cold person”.
Speaking after the latest development, he said: “I’m here for answers and accountability and again, (Katie) Price escaped proper examination citing mental health — the same mental health issues that allow her to appear in public in various costumes but yet cannot face a court account for her actions.
“For all too long, the shadow of these court appearances have been hanging over my fellow creditors and victims.”
