MSNBC hosts tie Trump's 'whether women like it or not' boast to Texas mom's death
The entire panel on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" lit into Donald Trump on Thursday morning over new comments he made about controlling women's lives –– and then tied him to the death of a pregnant woman in Texas.
During Trump's rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin on Wednesday night, he followed up on his previous boast that he is a "protector" of women, and told the crowd of MAGA diehards, "I want to protect the people, I want to protect the women of our country, I want to protect the women, " before adding, "Well, I’m going to do it whether the women like it or not.”
After sharing the clip of Trump from the previous evening, co-host Mika Brzezinski presented a series of clips that included Trump's infamous Access Hollywood boast that he can sexually assault women with impunity.

The fuming Brzezinski then added, "Well, the abortion bans due to Donald Trump are certainly punishment for women. I've been bringing the stories here throughout the past two weeks, of many women, many women who are just examples of many more women having reproductive emergencies or emergencies with their reproductive organs, whether pregnant or not, who are not getting the healthcare they need."
"The stories are gruesome, they're dreadful, they're a horror that nobody should have to endure," she continued. "I have to tell them because it's happening now."
She then noted a new report from ProPublica that detailed the death of 28-year-old Josseli Barnica who died while doctors stood by and refused to assist as she miscarried due to their fears of the draconian Texas laws forbidding abortion.
"She was 17 weeks pregnant," the MSNBC host reported. "Donald Trump is the protector of women? Because his bans just killed another woman. She suffered for 40 hours in agony while her uterus remained exposed to bacteria, and three days later, this young mother, who was so excited about bringing another life into this world, was dead."
"So, Joe, that is just yet another story, and there will be many, many, many more, of life in America, Trump's life in America for women," she told her co-host. "So when you look at him as the protector, just keep that in mind. I'm not sure what he is talking about. It's some sort of sick, distorted fascist way."
