I thought I’d nailed my Halloween costume but everyone thought I was someone VERY different – I’m mortified

HE thought he’d knocked it out of the park when he dressed up as Glee favourite Sue Sylvester for Halloween.

But popular influencer Max Belagde was left mortified when he found out what people thought he’d actually gone as for the spooky occasion.

In a post on his TikTok page, he showed how he’d donned a red adidas tracksuit to greet trick or treaters at his front door.

“I’m literally having the best time ever!” he said in the video.

But as the clip continued, he admitted he was getting bored as children weren’t knocking at his door.

“What do I have to do?” he mused.

“Do I have to stand outside and be like, ‘Come on!’

“I’ll probably get arrested!”

Luckily, the trick or treaters did start arriving later on, much to his delight.

However, in comments on the original video, there were some who admitted they thought Max had dressed up as shamed TV presenter Jimmy Savile.

“Genuinely thinking why is he dressed as Jimmy Savile until you said who you were?” one wrote.

“I 100% thought he was Savile for Halloween!” another laughed.

“Never heard of Sue Sylvester. On the other hand, I thought your Jimmy Savile outfit was outstanding,” a third commented.

“You’re actually going to have to go on local Facebook groups to clarify I fear!” someone else said.

As another admitted: “This is so funny, I can’t breathe!”

Max responded in another TikTok video, as he admitted he was “mortified” that people hadn’t picked up on the Glee reference.

“Oh my God!” he yelled in embarrassment.

“All I can think about is the parents watching me hand out sweets to their children whilst they think that I’m dressed as Jimmy Savile!”

Tacky Halloween decorations

Interiors expert Miriam Gomez revealed the seven mistakes that are making your Halloween decorations look tacky.

  • Too much orange and black can make your home look like a Halloween shop.
  • Plastic tombstones come across as cartoonish rather than spooky.
  • Too many lights can be overwhelming, mix in some candles instead.
  • Fake materials and too much glitter can make your house look cheap.
  • Loud repetitive sounds can be incredibly annoying for you and your neighbours.
  • Inflatable garden decor look tacky and can float into your neighbour’s garden.
  • Not embracing classic elements such as carved pumpkins.

Max added that he was “definitely getting weird looks” from parents but didn’t think it was because they thought he was dressed as Savile.

“It did not cross my brain once, or my boyfriend’s – and I was dressed like that all night,” he continued.

“It wasn’t until my mum called me as well and was like why are you dressed up like Jimmy Savile?”

Concluding his video, Max said: “I just really enjoy the TV show Glee and I’m very upset.

“So please give me three to four business days to recover from this.

“Happy Halloween!”

Max added in the caption: “Please send this to anyone that came home from trick or treating with their child and said there was a jimmy at the door I am MORTIFIED”.
