Federal indictment accuses Schenectady man of drug, gun possession

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- A Schenectady man was arrested on Tuesday for alleged drug and firearm possession. The United States Department of Justice said Willie Mills, 31, is facing multiple charges.

A federal indictment accuses Mills, a previously convicted felon, of having an unlawful firearm. Additionally, the indictment accuses Mills of distributing cocaine and fentanyl four separate times between 2023 and 2024.

If convicted, Mills' charges carry a sentence of five to 40 years in prison, up to $5 million in fines, and four years to life on probation. He was arraigned in Albany on Tuesday, Oct. 29, and after a detention hearing on Thursday, Oct. 31, was ordered detained pending trial.
