I made the easiest cash when I was unemployed – I picked three side hustles and now do them alongside my 9-5 too

Sophie, from the UK, took to social media sharing her top three ways to make money – and they’re so easy you can do them alongside a full-time job too.
Sophie shared three easy side hustles to see her through unemployment[/caption]She said: “There are three ways to make some extra cash alongside your 9-5. In January through to March I was unemployed, and these three things saved my life.”
“I carried on doing these things; now I have a job again, and it’s just a great way to get that little bit of extra income.”
In the clip, the savvy woman shared the exact side hustles she used to keep her busy and earn extra cash while working from home.
Surveys
The first side hustle she recommended was using surveys.
While they often pay less money than other side hustles, you can easily do them at home while watching TV and the pounds quickly stack up.
Sophie suggested some of her favourite survey websites including AttaPoll, Swagbucks and Qmee.
While it might not be loads of cash Sophie said it can easily pay for your food shop or petrol for the week.
Mystery Shopper
If you’ve ever worked in retail you know the fear of expecting a mystery shopper – but it can be quite lucrative to do.
Sophie says it can take more time out of your day but is well worth it.
The side-hustle whizz used two sites to find jobs – Serve First and ProInsight, which connect you with jobs near your local area.
The pay does vary, but she said you can always bag some free goodies while you do your shop.
She added: “I did one for Victoria’s Secret where I got paid and a free bra; I did one for NARS where I got paid and a free foundation.”
Online Content
Last but not least, Sophie started making UGC (user generated content) for brands.
She said she found the side hustle by using TikTok to find brands that needed people to make content for them.
Some of the best-known survey sites to try as a side hustle
- i-Say
- Swagbucks
- Crowdology
- Curious Cat
- Google Opinion Rewards
- PopulusLive
“The brand will say what they want from you whether they want you in the video or they want you out the video, or they just want you taking pictures of the product,” she explained.
“I started doing this but I just searched in TikTok how to do UGC and I went from there I made a portfolio I filmed some random videos of products I already had at home”
The clip posted to her TikTok account @savvysoph has since gone viral with over 235k views and 5,800 likes.
People were quick to take to the comments asking for more information on the side hustles.
One person wrote: “How does the Mystery Shopping work with being taxed if you have a full time job?”
“If you earn over £1k a year on a specific side hustle then you have to submit the self-assessment tax returns!” replied Sophie.
Another commented: “Great tips!”
“Tried the first survey one (AttaPoll) but the questions went on for EVER and the reward offered was like £1,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “Please could you share the links for surveys and mysterious shopping?”
Someone else added: “Could I also please have the mystery shopping link?”
