Richarlison could face another lengthy spell on the sidelines – Injury expert says
An expert has provided an analysis on Richarlison’s injury against Aston Villa, and it is not good news for the Brazilian or Tottenham.
Richarlison cannot stay fit
Richarlison came on as a substitute just before the hour mark but only managed to stay on the pitch for 27 minutes before coming off with a hamstring injury.
The Brazilian picked up the injury while stretching to cross the ball to Dominic Solanke for Tottenham‘s third goal. The forward looked heartbroken as he went down holding his hamstring soon after.
The 27-year-old has had terrible luck with injuries over the course of 2024, and has not been able to remain fit for more than a few games in a row.
How long will Richarlison be out for?
The social media platform Physio Scout, who analyse injuries, have pointed out that the Tottenham forward appeared to be suffering from a hamstring strain rather than tightness.
He revealed that Richarlison will miss two to four weeks if it is a grade one strain, and he could be sidelined for four to six weeks if it is a grade two.
Bittersweet day for Postecoglou
While Postecoglou will be delighted with his side’s display and the result, he will be frustrated at the fact that his injury list is now piling up.
Wilson Odobert, Micky van de Ven and Djed Spence are already sidelined and they have now been joined at the treatment table by Cristian Romero and Richarlison.
The Tottenham head coach will be hoping that his side can somehow soldier on until the international break so that these players will have sufficient time to recover fully.
