Kamala Harris Concedes to Donald Trump After Presidential Election 2024: Here's What She Reportedly Said

Kamala Harris has conceded the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump.

The 60-year-old Vice President of the United States called 78-year-old President-elect Donald Trump to offer her concession, a senior aide to the Harris campaign confirmed to People.

She reportedly discussed “the importance of a peaceful transition of power between the administrations and expressed hope that he can be a president for all Americans,” via the outlet.

President Trump acknowledged Vice President Harris on her strength, professionalism, and tenacity throughout the campaign, and both leaders agreed on the importance of unifying the country,” said Trump spokesman, Steven Cheung, in response.

The Vice President will publicly address the nation about her defeat at 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday (November 6) at Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she earned her undergraduate degree. Click here to watch a live-stream of the speech.

She first announced her presidential campaign on July 21 after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race and gave her his endorsement. In August, she chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be her running mate.
