Jeff Bezos Wasted No Time Sucking Up to Trump
Jeff Bezos wasted no time reminding Donald Trump that he’s a big fan of the newly re-elected president. The Amazon founder congratulated Trump with a post on X Wednesday morning, writing, “Wishing @realDonaldTrump all success in leading and uniting the America we all love.”
Big congratulations to our 45th and now 47th President on an extraordinary political comeback and decisive victory. No nation has bigger opportunities. Wishing @realDonaldTrump all success in leading and uniting the America we all love.

A couple of interesting things to note here. First, Bezos has only posted on X twice this entire year, and the first time was to comment on Trump getting shot back in July. “Our former President showed tremendous grace and courage under literal fire tonight,” he wrote, “So thankful for his safety and so sad for the victims and their families.” It seems the billionaire only uses the app to send positive energy toward Trump nowadays.
Bezos’s acclamatory message to the president-elect comes on the heels of his decision to block the Washington Post (a paper he owns) from endorsing Kamala Harris. Officials from Blue Origin, Bezos’s aerospace company, met with Trump the same day it was announced the Post would not be endorsing a candidate for the first time in 36 years. In an op-ed, Bezos chalked that up simply to bad timing, writing, “I would also like to be clear that no quid pro quo of any kind is at work here. Neither campaign nor candidate was consulted or informed at any level or in any way about this decision.”
Bezos’s fellow tech billionaires quickly followed suit: Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Apple CEO Tim Cook also shared kind words with the president-elect.
“Congratulations to President Trump on a decisive victory. We have great opportunities ahead of us as a country,” Zuckerberg said on Threads. “Looking forward to working with you and your administration.”
“Congratulations President Trump on your victory! We look forward to engaging with you and your administration to help make sure the United States continues to lead with and be fueled by ingenuity, innovation, and creativity,” Cook wrote on X.
There may not have been any quid pro quo from Bezos, but it does seem that the election went exactly as these guys had hoped.
