Glastonbury Festival favourites rule themselves out of 2025 after headline set rumours

GLASTONBURY Festival favourites rule themselves out of taking part next year after headline set rumours.

Fontaines D.C. – which formed in 2014 – have played at the iconic festival a number of times over the years.

However it appears that they won’t be doing their thing on stage in 2025 after releasing tour dates for next year.

The band, made up of Grian Chatten, Conor Curley, Conor Deegan III, Tom Coll and Carlos O’Connell, will be touring around Europe when Glastonbury 2025 is on.

Between the 25th to 29th June next year, when Glastonbury is on, they will be performing in Croatia, Serbia, Greece and Turkey.

One concerned fan shared a picture of the poster a discussion forum about Glastonbury on Reddit.

They pointed out: “Surely no Fontaines D.C.”

“Unless they fly from Greece to the U.K. to Turkey in consecutive days…,” they added.

One replied: “They’ve played every year since 2019 I think, that year they did 3 gigs. Not that surprising.”

Another chimed in: “Think there were some rumours they were in the running for a big Pyramid slot next year. Kinda would have made sense seeing as their (very well loved) new album wasn’t out during last years festival, but I’m quite glad they’re out, would rather some fresh acts.”

A third questioned: “I’m not sure what the point of this post is? They’ve just headlined the Park. Why would they be playing this year too?

The group have released a number of singles over the years.

Some include Starburster, In The Modern World, I Don’t Belong and A Hero’s Death.

Over the years Fontaines D.C. have also released a number of albums.

Some include Dogrel, A Hero’s Death, Skinty Fia and Romance.

They have also won incredible awards for their music too.

Fontaines D.C. were awarded a gong for International Group at the Brits in 2023, best alternative rock album at the Libera Awards in 2020 and best band in the world at the NME Awards in 2022.
