'Not smart': Attorney stunned as Rudy Giuliani holds press conference after court
Criminal defense attorney Eric Faddis told NewsNation he was surprised to see former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani holding a press conference just minutes after appearing in federal court for failing to turn over his valuables to two former Georgia election workers.
After appearing in federal court on Thursday, Giuliani ranted that Hunter Biden was connected to the defamation case brought by Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Wandrea "Shaye" Moss. A judge has ordered the former mayor to turn over much of his property to the women after he failed to pay the $148 million judgment.
During the Thursday hearing, Judge Lewis Liman told Giuliani that it was "farcical" for him to claim not to know where his assets were. Liman also threatened Giuliani with contempt if he continued to ignore court orders.
"Then, how do they have probable cause to raid me, and how do they have probable cause to go take my iCloud account when I began representing Trump?" Giuliani complained to reporters at his press conference. "This case comes out of that group. It's brought by an activist group. The chief lawyer was Hunter Biden's law partner."
NewsNation asked Faddis if it was "smart for him to be speaking out and taking questions at this point."
"When we look at the very basis for this defamation case, I think it's not smart for him to just be going off the cuff and spouting off whatever he wants in public like this," the surprised attorney replied. "He's bound to state something inartfully or perhaps misrepresent something."

"And that's how we got here for this defamation case in the first place," he added. "So certainly, if I was his attorney, I would not be advising him to do this. He's really talking about everything except his noncompliance with this forfeiture order."
Anchor Nichole Berlie agreed: "Yeah, I was a little surprised that his attorneys, at least up until this point, have not stepped in to say, you know, hey, maybe we cut this short, no more questions."
