Texans participating in 2024 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

AUSTIN (KXAN) — It's the holiday season! With the start of November comes the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, an annual tradition watched by millions in New York City and across the country.

This year's parade will feature 22 balloons, seven balloonicles, 33 floats, 11 marching bands, 24 performers, 28 clown crews and 11 performance groups from across the country (and, in some cases, the globe). Among those spectacles, the Lone Star State will bring some Texas pride to the Big Apple this November.

Here's a look at some of the Texans performing in this year's parade.

Flower Mound High School Marching Band

Traveling all the way from Flower Mound in the Dallas-Fort Worth area is the Flower Mound High School Marching Band. The high school's full band program includes 430 members, two marching bands, five concert bands, winter guards and numerous percussion ensembles.

Kilgore College Rangerettes

Hailing from Kilgore, Texas is the Kilgore College Rangerettes, a precision and drill team. Macy's parade officials said the team has performed at college bowl games for more than 60 years along with dazzling audiences around the world.

Spirit of America Cheer, Dance Stars

Various cheerleaders and dancers from across the country will perform as part of two Spirit of America performance ensembles. Officials with Austin ISD confirmed five officers from the Bowie High School Silver Stars — a competitive dance team — will participate in this year's parade.

The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off Nov. 28 at 8:30 a.m. and runs until noon in all time zones. Those interested can watch the festivities in action on NBC and Peacock.
