'Blues Clues' Host Steve Burns Posts Reassuring Message to Fans

Steve Burns, original host of the Nickelodeon children's educational series Blue's Clues, relayed a cathartic message after the 2024 presidential election on Wednesday; all the while saying nothing at all.

In a minute-long video posted to TikTok, Burns can be seen approaching a wooden fence set against a grassy field in the early morning, given the positioning of the sun. Holding two mugs presumably containing coffee, he sets one down for the viewer and then looks around, taking a deep breath.

Briefly looking directly into the camera, Burns appears overcome with emotion, seemingly fighting back tears before taking a long sip of his coffee. For the following 30 seconds, his face conveys more than anything he could say in the moment while looking around the property. Finally, at the end, he looks into the camera once again and gives an encouraging nod.

Within just a day, the video racked up six million views as fans flooded the comments to thank him for the encouragement.

"I bet you didn’t think you’d still be raising us all these years later, Steve, but thank you for still being here," gushed one fan, while another added: "He didn’t say A WORD and said everything at the same time. This man should be guarded at all costs."

"Please open the handy dandy notebook and draw us a clue because I don't know what we are going to do," added another concerned user.

Burns hosted Blue's Clues, which was part of the network's Nick Jr. block of programming, from 1996 through 2002. And yet, more than two decades later, he's still providing guidance and reassurance to his now-grown up fans.
