Biden hammered for saying 'We're going to be ok' after months of saying the opposite
Fox News' senior White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich hammered press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about messaging from Democrats over the past several months that America would suffer if Donald Trump were reelected.
"This administration messaged to millions of Americans that they're going to wake up the day after the election if Trump won and have their rights stripped away, that democracy would crumble and the president today said we're going to be okay," said Heinrich.
Democrats didn't say the country would fall the day after the election, rather walked through the danger Trump posed, such as appointing judges who could take away marriage equality and pass a nationwide abortion ban, which happened in the House earlier this year.
Additionally, Trump likely won't face judicial accountability related to the federal crime for which he was accused because he intends to have the special counsel fired.

Jean-Pierre made it clear that it's easy to square both messages the dangers of Trump and the president's promise that everything would be okay.
"The American people made the decision," Jean-Pierre said. "There was an election two nights ago. There was. And it was a free and fair election and we respect the election process. We do. And Americans spoke. And so, the job of the president is to make sure we respect that. The job of the president is to make sure we have a peaceful transfer of power. That is what the American people deserve."
She noted that Biden called Trump to the White House to illustrate that under his administration, things would be conducted consistent with laws, tradition and precedent. This did not happen in 2020 when it was Biden coming into office.
"I've been standing here and saying that the president is going to put the American people first," continued Jean-Pierre. "I've been standing here talking about how the president is going to make sure that they get what they deserve, which is a peaceful transfer of power. I do not appreciate having my words twisted."
At an earlier point, she told reporters that "in the next 74 days, the president wants to lead by example."
Several marginalized groups like undocumented immigrants, LGBTQ people and civil servants have expressed fears about a second Trump administration. The conservative Heritage Foundation said last year the left is "right to fear our plan," known as "Project 2025."
