Ryan Reynolds opened up about Channing Tatum‘s future within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Over the summer, the 44-year-old actor fulfilled a years-long dream by making a cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine as Gambit, the fast-talking card-dealing member of the X-Men.

While on Entertainment Weekly’s Awardist podcast, Ryan seemed hopeful that Channing would suit up again.
“I honestly don’t know what goes on behind closed doors in the bookkeeping sessions at Marvel, but I do know that they’re obsessed with him in that role,” he said. “It’s kind of like the same situation I went through. Once you show that it works well, that’s really what they need. Sometimes they just need to see it in action.”
He continued, adding, “And Channing is so singular in how he plays that character, but also he’s so beautiful physically, the way he moves and the way he can pick up steps.”
While nothing is set in stone yet, Ryan made it clear that he wanted to see it happen.
There was another hint that we might be seeing more of Gambit.
