Trump spurns major GOP voting bloc with latest announcement about his new administration
Donald Trump is bound to upset some Republicans with an announcement made on Saturday about his new administration.
Days after defeating Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election, Trump turned to his Truth Social platform to announce two people he wouldn't employ as part of his second term in the White House. One of those people was former United States Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who worked for Trump before.
Haley, who challenged Trump in the primary and got second place in the contest before dropping out and endorsing him, is thought by many experts to represent GOP voters who remain skeptical of the ex-president who's returning to office.

"I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley, or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation," Trump wrote on Saturday. "I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country."
He added, "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Liberal political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen responded to the news on X, formerly Twitter, saying, "Hope it was worth it."
