Festival of Trees in Austin returns to help families in need this holiday season
AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Salvation Army’s annual Festival of Trees is making its way to Austin once again.
The event, hosted by The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, is expected to take place Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at 4700 Manor Road in east Austin.
“This enchanting event promises to bring the holiday spirit to life while supporting The Rathgeber Center for Families and the 2024 Angel Tree program,” organizers said.
The Festival of Trees is a tradition that showcases decorated Christmas trees, created by members of The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, board members and volunteers.
“These trees are more than just decorations; they are symbols of hope and joy for families in need,” organizers said.
The trees will be auctioned off, and all proceeds will go toward benefiting families in need during the holiday season. The bidding for the trees began Friday and will end at 6 p.m. Sunday. RSVP for the live auction here.
During the event, there will be carolers helping attendees get into the holiday spirit, as well as themed treats available.
Attendees are also encouraged to participate in the Angel Tree Program by bringing in donations to help families who require assistance during the holiday season.
