To determine the golden ratio, according to the media reports, experts measure the length and width of the face, dividing the length by the width. An ideal result is approximately 1.62. In addition to these measurements, distances between facial features are also evaluated, such as from the hairline to the eyes, the space between the eyes, and from the bottom of the nose to the chin. The closer these ratios are to 1.62, the higher the golden ratio score.

As per the Economic Times report, British actress Jodie Comer, renowned for her roles in Killing Eve and The Bikeriders, secured the top spot with a golden ratio score of 94.52 percent. The method of using the golden ratio to assess physical perfection dates back to ancient Greece. The concept is that the closer a face aligns with the number 1.62, known as Phi, the more attractive it appears.

In 2023, Dr. Julian De Silva, a London-based cosmetic surgeon, utilized advanced digital face-mapping technology to analyze the facial features of numerous global celebrities and compare them to the Greek golden ratio, which is regarded as the ultimate standard of beauty. The results showed that Jodie Comer’s face was 94.52% aligned with this ideal, earning her the title of “scientifically proven” most beautiful woman in the world. Other top scorers in the study included Zendaya (94.37%), Bella Hadid (94.35%), Beyoncé (92.44%), Taylor Swift (91.64%), Kim Kardashian (91.28%), and Deepika Padukone (91.22%).

Golden Ratio and Science behind it

The science behind the golden ratio in facial aesthetics involves measuring the length and width of a face and dividing the length by the width. The ideal result, according to the Golden Ratio, is approximately 1.62, a number known as Phi (ϕ), named after the Greek sculptor Phidias, who applied this proportion in his artwork. When assessing a person’s face, this ratio helps demonstrate which proportions are most visually pleasing.

In addition to length and width, other facial distances can be measured to assess conformity to this ideal. These include the distance from the hairline to the eyes, the space between the eyes, and from the bottom of the nose to the chin.

“The closer the ratio is to 1.62, the higher the golden ratio score,” experts were quoted as saying to Economics Times.  The top 10 most beautiful women in the world (according to golden ratio) are as follows.
