POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY (KSNT) - State troopers say a Manhattan woman was seriously injured in a crash on Highway 24 Friday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) announced the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 15 on eastbound Highway 24 where it meets Blackjack Road. A Kia Telluride was stopped at a stop sign on Blackjack Road at Highway 24 facing north while a Nissan Versa was traveling east on the highway in the left lane.
The driver of the Kia tried to cross the eastbound lanes on the highway to continue westbound onto Highway 24 and did not see the Nissan approaching. The Nissan hit the Kia in the eastbound lanes of the highway.
The KHP said the driver of the Kia, a 57-year-old St. George man, was uninjured. The driver of the Nissan, a 37-year-old Manhattan woman, was taken to a Kansas City hospital for treatment.
