Fall Speed Order to be hosted at Mercer

Hosted at Lake Mercer in West Windsor, New Jersey, the 2024 Fall Speed Order gives athletes the chance to see where they fall among the nation’s elite rowers who have aspirations of making the US National team and receiving invitations to the winter National Team training camp.

This year’s Fall Speed Order, a strictly small boat event, features a men’s single, women’s single, men’s pair and women’s pair. Head of the Charles women’s championship single victor Michelle Sechser will get the chance to defend her speed in the women’s single.

Cooper Tuckerman from the Green Racing Project, the Craftsbury Outdoor Center’s Olympic development team, took the top time by a United States rower in the men’s championship single at HOCR and he will also get to see where he stacks up in the men’s single at the fall speed order.

Also, from the Green Racing Project, Sera Busse and Sophie Calabrese, who took second in the women’s championship double at HOCR, will race down the course in the women’s single.

“The result means a lot to us,” Sera said about her and Calabrese’s second place HOCR finish in the women’s championship double. “We’ve put in a lot of great work this fall in order to build to some bigger goals we have in the future, and this was a great stepping stone toward achieving them. It was an honor to race in a field that was deep with talent and experience. We definitely hope to go back next year and build on the result!”

Time trials will begin on Saturday, November 16 at 8:00 a.m. with the women’s single. Finals will take place the following day, November 17, beginning at 8:00 a.m. when the women’s single A final kicks off. Results will be posted here.
