Neighbors say crime is too common after Tuesday night deadly shooting in Midwest City

MIDWEST CITY, Okla. (KFOR) — On Tuesday night, Midwest City Police rushed to a shooting at the Shelton Apartments located at 2602 W Glenhaven Drive.

Authorities say the victim, 32-year-old Jacob Price, was shot and killed in the parking lot of the complex after a fight with two others.

"I heard a shot, gunshot, last night right over there when we were in the bed," said Brian Miles, a resident of the Shelton Apartments. "It was real loud, sounded like it was right in my window."

Miles has lived in the complex for almost a year, and says the crime in the area is far too common.

"All they do is just come through here and shoot like they don't care," Miles said.

Miles also says that in his first six months of living in the complex, his car was shot at, leaving bullets all throughout the vehicle. He said his neighbors car was also shot at.

When hearing the gunfire, Miles said his first instinct was to duck for his safety.

On Wednesday morning, a worker was in the parking lot cleaning the blood off of the cement at the crime scene with bleach and water.

Miles said it's a scary feeling having to fear for his life, but what happened Tuesday night isn't new.

"These right here seem like they're shoot-up apartments. I want to get up out of here, I just don't know what to do," Miles said.

Investigators are still looking for a suspect. Anyone with information is asked to call the Midwest City Police Department.
