Meriden Christmas tree farm gets ready for busy season
MERIDEN (KSNT) - It's almost that time of the year, to get your Christmas trees!
Christmas trees are one of the most celebrated decorations for the holiday season. At Seven Pines Christmas Tree Farm, all things are a go. The American Christmas Tree Association said 99% of people intend to put up a Christmas tree this year, 80% will go with an artificial tree and the rest will go with a live tree. The non-profit also said the earlier you shop, the better deals you can find.
Working for you, 27 News talked to a local Christmas tree farm about this year’s crop.
"The trees look pretty good," Chris Pool with Seven Pines said. "We've had good moisture this year. Last year, if you can recall about a year ago, it was pretty dry in the fall. So this year, we've been blessed with pretty good moisture on a consistent basis. So, yeah, I would say the trees look pretty healthy overall this year. And again, this should turn into good growth again next spring."
Choosing your own tree from Seven Pines will cost anywhere from $65-$150 depending on the tree. Seven Pines opens on Black Friday. You can find the farm at 9090 K-4 Highway in Meriden and reach it by calling either 308-991-6118 or 785-550-2775.
