Saratoga businesses create holiday giving campaign

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Impressions of Saratoga and The Dark Horse Mercantile are coming together to make the holidays special for senior residents. The Adopt a Grandparent campaign allows customers to buy a gift for a Saratoga senior citizen between now and Sunday, December 15.

The merchants are selling $20 gift tags that customers can personalize with messages to local senior citizens. The tags are for small gifts purchased with the money collected from tag sales.

Customers can purchase tags in-store and online through the Impressions of Saratoga website. Co-owners Marianne Barker and Maddy Zanetti said the campaign benefits seniors at Wesley Healthcare Center, a long-term nursing home for adults with chronic medical needs.

"It was so touching to hear people's stories and reasons for donating. Everyone wanted to support the cause," Barker said. "And the night we assembled all of the gifts was such a great experience, The Wesley Community Staff and our employees had a wonderful time working together on the project."
