FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Wednesday Evening,
It was a warm morning today, followed by a quick snap back to late fall/early winter like temps to close to the day. Temps still topped in the upper 50s before the winds shifted, rain arrived, and now the colder air is settling in. Tonight will not be abnormal at all, in fact, most of us will drop back to around normal for an overnight low in the low to mid 30s.
We will have the chance for some scattered snow showers overnight tonight with no accumulating snow expected. On Thursday, we will have a better chance of on and off wet snow showers through the day, gusty winds, and high temps that will be running a dozen plus below normal for this time of the year in the mid to upper 30s, with wind chills only in the 20s. It will be a rude shock to the system, as we have had close to 4 straight weeks above normal.
Snow showers will continue into Friday as the cold airmass will pivot through our area. We will see some minor accumulations possible by this time, but mainly on grassy surfaces, as road surface temps should remain well above freezing still. By later on Friday before the moisture end, we will see the primary precip type shifting to mainly cold rain showers as temps will climb to the middle 40s.
Clouds will be fairly thick over the weekend, but temps will moderate back to normal as we will climb back to the upper 40s to lower 50s for both Saturday and Sunday. Monday rain showers will return later as a warm front will lift north, and highs will be in the mid to upper 50s. The cold front will be quick to follow with additional rain showers overnight into Tuesday with temps falling behind the front on Tuesday into the low to middle 40s.
We will stay in the lower 40s with improved travel weather on Wednesday with partly sunny skies.
