Vieira appointed Genoa head coach

ROME, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Former Arsenal midfielder and France international Patrick Vieira has been appointed head coach of Genoa, the Italian Serie A side confirmed on Wednesday.

Genoa has struggled since the start of this season, only amassing 10 points after 12 rounds under former coach Alberto Gilardino, one point above the relegation zone, prompting the Grifone to show the exit door to the 2006 World Cup w
